PART 2 ( see my last video for part 1) Supporting the suboccipital muscles require targeted contact and gentle pressure underneath the occiput. This is usually done by a qualified practitioner trained in cranial sacral work, SE touch, or occipital release work. But if you do not have access to work with someone in person, here’s a few options to try on at home If you can grab a Still Point Inducer (it’s on Amazon) I’d highly recommend it! It allows for a suboccipital release without having to keep your arms up. That being said, you can use your hands to start and you only need a couple minutes. You can also use tennis balls in a sock but just note that will apply the most pressure so just be gentle. You can do this anytime of the day but it’s especially helpful if you can relax after. Try it on and let me know how it feels. And let me know if the comments what other muscles you’d like me to explore and their relation to the nervous system! If you’re looking for a guided space to explore your body and tend to your nervous system, my monthly community space Held guides you through gentle practices to support your body’s threat response and gives your nervous system a place to be held and supported back into safety. Comment HELD and I’ll send you the link to learn more and join us 🤍 Disclaimer: this video is not a replacement for medical advice or treatment.
