Active member here - I have a hard time with the aspect of if we don’t tithe, we can’t enter the temple. So it feels like we’re basically paying to enter the celestial kingdom.

It always bothered me that tithing directly to the church is the only tithe that counts. Donations to cancer research, non profits and causes you believe in don’t count.

When tithing was rolled out as a requirement it was also promised it would end when the church had enough for its needs. It is now the richest church on earth and its annual operating cost could easily be supported off interest from investments. What changed?

I just looked how much I would pay in tithing is a lot. Like wth. I could do a lot with my tithing money. But with this economy it is hard. I don’t pay tithing. Oops

I have no issue with tithing because my family has received so many blessings from tithing. And I feel like it would be disrespectful not to pay it now that I’m an adult. I’d rather pay tithing then walk around the wilderness for 40 years. The Lord has always required sacrifice from his people.

Tithing isn’t about generosity though it’s about the law of obedience and in return’s blessings come when we obey fast offerings isn’t a requirement that is about generosity

all churches ask for tithing. tithing is based on faith. if your don't pay it. then you dont pay it. the temple is based on faith. to go you need to do x y z . tithing is that
