Plainfield was like that in the 60s. I recall shopping with my mother at Teppers and Bambergers and beautiful large colonial and Tudor homes. It was very similar to Summit and considered a prestigious address before the white exodus.

Awesome to see the buildings that still stand today in their glory days! Still a beautiful city with great people in it. Grew up next door in N Plfd for 42 years. My mom was born and raised in Plfd, graduated HS there, lived on the corner of South Ave and Leland. 7/11 is there now. Her bestie lived a few houses down on South Ave. The house still stands! Thanks for sharing!
