The walking dead show is a monumental waste of time. Instead of addressing how humanity would struggle to recover after a zombie plague it degenerated into a hundred episodes of people bickering with other people.

The show isn’t focused on how or why the virus spread, but rather on how people react in those situations and what they’re willing to do to survive in an apocalyptic world. Highlighting the moral choices and survival instincts that emerge during an apocalypse.

To be fair, you could argue that bc the scientists were under a deadline, that Jenner was purely guessing based off of the data he and other scientists gathered before everything went dark. He could be wrong completely. But thank you for your in depth analysis! Very facinating!

the comments saying things like "it's just a show" are so annoying. They act like you can't point out scientific inaccuracies in a scene that's actively using science to try and explain what's happening.

He also said he was just a Dr at the CDC and his wife knew more information on the virus than he did so maybe he didn’t really know as much as he let on. I’m choosing to believe that lol for the plot.
