@sarahhhhale: To be clear it’s just fine if you respond “no that is how it is. It mostly sucks” I’m gonna do it someday no matter what but I just would like to have accurate expectations! #moms #momtok #advice #maternal #postpartum

Being a mom has changed me. Forever. In every aspect of the word. There are hard days. But in those hard days there are so many moments that remind me how much love my girls. One smile, one giggle , one love tackle… I forget why the day was so hard. I didn’t lose myself in motherhood, I’ve evolved and also we have cheetah girls dance parties every morning with pancakes… so yes motherhood is a freaking blast

Hardest thing I’ve ever done? No. Can there be challenges and your mental load expand? For sure. It’s so different when it’s your own child. You can do things that work for YOU. Which I think is important to remember! I think it also depends on you, your partner, etc. Communicating needs to help with the mental load, physical load etc is so important.

I had no intention of having kids. It didn't look like fun to me either and I have an amazing mom but it just didn't seem like it was for me. But then I met my husband. And he was amazing with kids. I changed my mind because I couldn't imagine not having kids because he would be a great partner. We tried for years to convince. We did Fertility treatments and had a couple of miscarriages. We ended up becoming foster parents because we just knew we had a lot of love to give even if it was temporary. We adopted our first when he was 1. Flash forward to our oldest is 21 months old and we're fostering a 6 month old and 3.5 month old. I find out I'm pregnant! Ended up adopting the 2 we were fostering and I had 4 kids under 2.5! It was chaos and there are days still when I'm like can I do this? But I wouldn't ever change a thing. I have so much fun with my kids. They're now 9,8,8, and 7 and it's hard but that joy isn't even something that I can explain. I'm also a stay at home mom and younger me would have never ever believed it haha.

I’m not going to lie I think there are definitely times when being a mom is hard, but I think most of my reasoning for that is because I’m a relatively young mom I had my daughter when I was 22 and my husband and I don’t currently live near family and we don’t live in an area currently where it’s easy to make friends I think that’s by far been the hardest part for me. However I LOVE being a mom, having my daughter when I did was the best decision my husband and I have ever made and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I do actually have so much fun with her and enjoy being her mom.

Oh I LOVE being a mom, it honestly is hard! Just make sure before going into it that you have a great support team (your husband, but also with your parents and in-laws, but including friends and other parts of the family) to help to have your me time. Have me times are great with after baby and just being a mom. Also being a member, it’s okay not having so many kids as well. Have the amount of kids that not only physically but mentally can handle

I never pictured myself as a mother, but I am having a blast and it just got better. Now disclaimer, I have 3 daughters, two are now in college and are quite literally my best friends.

Okay honestly every baby is SO different so all mothers are having different experiences. But for me motherhood has been so fun! Sure there are some harder days but most of those days it’s all me having a terrible mindset. Is being a mom a sacrifice in many ways? ABSOLUTELY!!! But are children so fun and seriously the greatest blessing and the best friends you’ll ever have? ABSOLUTELY!! If you aren’t willing to lose sleep the first year, have constant messes, and have your whole life revolve around a tiny dictator then it’s probably not the best decision 😂 I love motherhood and I think most of the experience is determined by your mindset!

motherhood is so fun!!! it can be hard but it pushes you to grow in ways you never thought! I feel like motherhood was hard for me when I had the “victim” mindset. But switching out of the mindset has changed everything for me! Motherhood has been the best thing for my life. You will be an amazing mom❤️❤️

Loving so many of these takes!!!! The most meaningful, happy, incredible thing I've ever done is being a mom BUT yes there are just some tricky phases. Every child is extremely different and everyone's environment is different. There can be stages that are challenging but when you come out of those you are so proud of yourself and your family! It's incredible. There's nothing like it.

It’s definitely flips your life upside down since it’s ALL brand new. My daughter will be 3 in May up until the last couple months with her it has been incredible. Now that she’s a little older it’s been a bit harder but overall it’s incredible. My first 8-9 months with my son were horrible but now he turned one in October and it’s been great with him. I think people talk about the bad so much because we’re the first generation I think to really talk about the bad and the hard times in motherhood. Overall it’s the most incredible thing but you go through phases that can be really hard and it takes over your life.

Hi! I got pregnant unplanned and was so scared at first, but becoming a mom is the best thing that’s ever happened to me! My baby is 6 months old now, we’ve been to 6 countries together— she’s a little bestie I get to bring with me everywhere ☺️

No, not all the time. It is fun and has been fun a lot of the time!! I legit enjoy hanging out with my 9 year old so much. I would encourage you to keep somethings as just for you. Like having self care, friendships and like hobbies. It won’t be able to be all of the time, but it is helpful when you can.

I find that for me it’s usually the expectations of what it mean to be a “great mom” that makes everything so hard. Once I started to accept that I could be a mom in my own way with my own personality, strengths, and weaknesses, mom life got so much more fun! My toddler has full on conversations now, and our chats make me so so happy. There really is a lot of joy to be found in motherhood, especially if you’re able to just go with the flow.

Being a mom is so fulfilling and an absolute blessing! It has brought me to have a closer relationship with Heavenly Farther and learn how to rely on Him, and have faith through my whole motherhood journey! It has hard moments but is so fun!! I can’t imagine a world without my kiddos. The love is better than anything in the world!!

Motherhood is hard but it’s more rewarding than hard. Is it always easy? No, but it doesn’t matter because it changes you in an instant and you don’t think twice about the hard in the moment. It’s so fulfilling and so full of joy. Glimpses of hard in a life that’s so magical and beautiful with babies!

I think becoming a mom was truly so shocking and rocked my world bc nothing prepared me for all the change, but as you grow into it you realize it’s so beautiful!! It’s truly the most sacred and rewarding thing I’ve ever done. My kids give me so much purpose and bring so much joy and happiness to me. They are so fun. I always call them my little besties. It’s such a privilege to raise your babies! So yes, there are hard days and a lot of exhaustion but motherhood can’t be beat! I also feel like you just don’t understand it until you do it. I definitely didn’t, but now have such an appreciation for all moms. You realize all the work and sacrifice it takes. But 10/10, would recommend being a mom

I think of an answer to this question of how do I see my life now. Do I see my life as fun and hard or do I do? I see my life as mundane?

I have SO much fun!!! Like anything I have some harder days (or moments) and do feel overwhelmed but overall I’m having so much fun. Those feelings usually come when I’m having a pity party for myself about how much work being a mom is and I do feel like most of it goes unnoticed and for me that’s the hardest part. I think that’s why I love songs like “string cheese” because it validates all the unseen effort I put in! You have to be confident in yourself as a mom and know that God sees the work you’re doing even if the world doesn’t recognize it and it is so important. BUT I PROMISE ITS SOOO FUN I love it so much

I’m not a mom yet, but my sister constantly talks about how fun it is to have her baby! She says that she is way more entertained now than she was before her baby, and that she just wants to hang out with her all the time!!
