@fabiolanassers: How ironic is the ending of this? 🥲 My husband and I booked business class using miles ✅ We get to the gate… Swiss Airlines tells us business class is OVERBOOKED. One of us has to move to economy. They explain the priority system when this happens: cash → status → miles. Since we booked with miles… one of us got bumped. Mind you, we had checked in and pre-selected our seats months ago. While we’re at the gate, the woman behind us starts venting. She paid FULL price for her business ticket… and they tried to move her too. We felt bad for her. I board, get to my business class seat… And guess who’s sitting next to me (in the seat that was supposed to be Brad’s) 😄🙄 Later we check online… Business class seats on this SAME flight were still selling for over $7,000. So when Swiss see miles bookings, they just overbook, move passengers down, offer $1–2k in compensation… and still generate thousands more in revenue.
