Junior High = 7-9; High School = 9-12. I'm generation Jones.

Here in Canada elementary school was kindergarten to grade 7, junior high was 8 to 10, and then senior high school was grades 11 and 12. That was in the 60s and 70s, I'm generation Jones.

In Uk it’s Nursery birth to 5 (usually from 2 or 3 years. Then Primary School 4-11years, then Secondary School up to 16, some have a 6th form for 16-18 or they can opt for college. The first year in Primary is called reception, then year’s number Y1 to Y11. Got that 🤣

In England it goes nursery up to 4years old then reception , year 1 and 2 is then infants . And year 3-6 is junior’s high school is age 11-16 which is year 7-11 and then onto A levels. I haven’t got a clue about GCSE Grades though

In Victoria Aussie it used to be kindy followed by 1 year of preps or preparatory then grades 1 to 6 at primary school then year 7 to 12 at high school . In other states it can be kindy preps or pre-primary or reception ugh

In Scotland it’s Nursery - ages 3&4. Then Primary 1-7( so age 5-11) then High school-1st year through to 6th, then on to either college or University or straight out to work

Where I live in Eastern Canada, we have Kindergarten-Grade 3 is Primary, Grade 4-6 is Elementary, Grade 7-9 is Junior High and Grade 10-12 is High school. We don’t use Sophomore or Freshman.

Growing up in the US in Pittsburgh, we had. Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary (1-5), Middle School/Junior High (6-8), High School (9-12). I believe that is fairly common but who knows anymore? 🤷🏻♀️😂🤔

in England we call them years not Grades. Nursery isnt statutory. start at Reception at 4yrs old and then to year 6 (11yrs old) is Primary. years 7- 11 (11yrs old to 16yrs old) is Secondary school.
