I recommend a leg in the middle so it supports the desk and doesn’t sag over time. It can be mounted farther back so you don’t hit it with your knees

I recommend returning that karlby board cause it’s particle board. Not as strong and getting a pure butcher block wood desktop from Home Depot for the same price 👍 that’s what I ended up doing and it feels a lot sturdier
