My husband is korean and while sleeping i smell a weird smell coming out of his all body. I dont know what that smell is but its not pleasant. Even though he doesn’t drink. Its a cultural thing they dont like deodorant. In my opinion they should use body deodorant to not smell the fermented food.

I am sorry I am not trying to be mean but some people I have smelled I felt sick afterwards m, gagged and puked on some occasions 😭😭😭. Its not everybody mostly older generations

my husband doesn't smell. maybe just his clothes if we go to bbq or something. even his farts never smell.. I sniff him. none. when I go to Korea and ride the bus or subway I never put my hand up to hold the bars because my deodorant can't contain my stink. 😭

Everyone perspires. Smoking causes odor, regardless of its origin. Alcohol can influence body odor. Diet also has an effect. Bacteria on the skin are crucial for odor. The gene variant only means that, on average, underarm odor may be weaker in many East Asians. It does not mean no odor, no sweat, no odor formation. Ultimately, hygiene, lifestyle, and individual biology are much more important than nationality.

I had an opportunity to teach ESL to Korean and recall I had to keep the door open because I couldn't get over the smell of my student. They may have noticed it since they would then come fresh and showered they'd say.

Not only koreans but everyone who lives here smells garlic. If you drink, than smells garlic plus soju which is terrible on the second morning, but we don't care, here everyone is smell same. Maybe one interesting extra about this. As a European who live here for decades, I lost lot's of armpit smell but get the korean garlic smell, probably because of korean cousin.

daily diet can determine a person's smell. someone who eats more fruit than anything might have a sweet and/or refreshing smell. even if you're missing the body odor gene, like most Asians, you can still have a smell (good or bad). its also how some people can smell when others are sick

My ex smelled like pennies when he came over after golfing and sweating in the heat. A metallic copper smell. It wasn’t that intense musky kind of odor that, say, South Asians have but he didn’t smell like gardenias and roses either let me tell you 😭

Well, is this an interesting morning conversation while I’m drinking coffee😂😂 I have never thought too much about this because I figured when you travel around the world smells are different everywhere you go my kids and and grandkids tell me I smell like Bath and body and my house does😂😂 yes! My fav store!!
