This confirms what I've said to my friends before, Kratos is just someone who doesn't handle loss very well. Loses Calliope he becomes the God Of War. After being a monster for so long he meets Laufey and slowly becomes who he used to be and was conflicted when Artreus was born as he felt undeserving. And while he didn't outright become a monster again when she died? It crept back in a bit thus his strained relationship with his son. But of course Kratos always wanted a family and he slowly turned back into he was always meant to be.

I'm so happy Santa Monica studios is acknowledging calliope and the old trilogy and psp games! I was afraid they would try to retcon and censor the old Greek story because of how modern the newest god of war is but this looks pretty old school!!!
