These are the only double chocolate chip cookies you will ever make. Everyone needs a staple small batch cookie recipe in their back pocket and this is it. They have an incredible deep chocolate flavor, perfectly crackly tops, soft fudgy centers, and melty chocolate in every bite. They come together in one bowl so they are incredibly simple, absolutely delicious, and perfect for Valentine’s Day… or a random day when you just need to satisfy your chocolate craving. The original Gold Medal Flour recipe is linked in my bio. I adapted it slightly to create 5 larger bakery-style cookies and gave them a little Valentine’s flare. If you want to do exactly what I did, here are my adaptations: Scoop 3 tablespoons of dough per cookie onto a parchment-lined baking sheet (makes 5 large cookies). Bake at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers are still soft. As soon as they come out of the oven, use a round cookie cutter, glass, or bowl to gently scoot them into a perfect circle. For the Valentine’s finish: Fold a piece of paper in half, draw half a heart along the fold, and cut it out. Place the stencil on top of each cookie, lightly sift powdered sugar over it, then carefully remove to reveal the heart design.
