whew you said a mighty word! 😮💨 the work is hard but it's rewarding. I feel like allowing for true intimacy also requires being intentional with how you're treating and affecting the other person. which means being seen in ways that you might not like. but not taking that personally? It feels like that's part of releasing control. Actually, this just reminded me of the hedgehog dilemma. being in connection with people will be painful at times but knowing that allows for deliberate action. which I think intimacy is. deliberate consistent caring action. showing up in the emotional gym to get internal gains.
