@njdotcom: Kids waiting at a bus stop scrambled on February 12 in Camden County, N.J. after ICE agents appeared in their apartment complex. Doorbell camera footage captured dozens of children running back towards the apartments, some yelling “ICE, ICE” in panic. The children’s school district reported that “the presence of multiple enforcement vehicles caused significant fear and confusion.” The bus driver circled the area several times, trying to pick up as many scattered students as possible. When the students finally arrived at school, many were visibly shaken and emotional. Praise to the bus driver who kept circling and picking them back up and taking them back to the school and giving them some form of safety. This is so sad.

and this is just one reason why my fiancé and i are currently driving 8 children from my neighborhood to and from school, 3 different schools, everyday even tho we are childless. we’re firefighters/medics working 24-72 hour shifts and thankfully have the BEST captain and one of us will leave if we are on shift or ill call every single person i can if i absolutely cannot leave because we’re on a call! was even driving some to sports if they couldn’t get rides but thankfully friends parents found out and are amazing and have fully taken that over. ill drive them as long as we have to if it means keeping them safe and with their families!
