democracy being followed by “ceasarism” is a correlation, not a causation. pacifism and violence are tactics, not principles. when the few fail to surrender authority back to the many is when those revolutions begin to fail. Robespierre did not necessarily believe himself to be a god when the french revolution started, it was only when the various political parties of the time began infighting that he started to descend into madness.
