Joy revealing that she's going into pathology made so much sense bc of course, she's like dr. house!

Ogilvie is the kid who went to med school because all his life he was told how smart he is and never for a second thought about medicine as a people-first job

the parallels between him and joy are crazy. like when joy said she’s going into pathology bc she doesn’t deal with people well, but we’ve only seen her get along with everyone and be really thoughtful. vs oogie boogie who’s “born for this” and just seems to view patients as cadavers for practice

Evil Whittaker should rethink his attitude to medicine in general imo

I don think he cares. He sees bodies not humans.

I was really hoping that the TB exposure and fecal disimpaction would have humbled Olive Garden at least a little bit.

evil whittaker’s constant lack of empathy is astounding like i know ive had classmates like that but its crazy to see it on the screen (also joy having more empathy and a better attitude and applying path is so refreshing bc everyone thinks of us and weird and antisocial)

Even at the debrief... He looks bored and want to end things quickly

his comment about being born for this job or whatever stood out to me cuz he struggled with the more minor/mundane things that come into the ER. like not everything is an trauma, you have to treat EVERYTHING and he struggles with that

I can’t even imagine how Whitaker felt. I was so sad for him. :(

Ogilve and Joy almost feel like a Santos and Whitaker parallel. A reserved but good doctor underestimates themselves next to an overconfident, arrogant doctor who keeps making foolhardy mistakes.

on a purely meta perspective, i love how the show shows all kinds of different ways autism shows up like evil whittaker, mel and her sister, even whittaker himself to some degree. shows that his autism isn't an excuse for his rudeness

I fear the tuberculosis scare did more to impact his psyche than Louis’ debrief

I don't want to call him evil Whitaker bc I don't want him associated with the name of our boy

i think stories like louie’s are so important to display, because it teaches people that everyone has a story, everyone has loved ones, addiction or not, i’m hoping it’ll help remind people that empathy is always the most important

Im controversial in that I actually really like Ogilvie but in that like, he is deeply flawed and needs to recognize the people first nature of the job and that growth possibility is exciting to see starting to unfold

Did any one else clock the moment where they panned to the homeless man, who was alone, waiting, and no one's priority?

I think he teared up at the end and maybe we’ll see that in the next episode. Maybe he is the way he is because of a similar situation.

I think placing this season at the beginning of July was also smart because this is when we get brand new residents who don’t necessarily have the ability to see patients beyond case studies yet.

maybe it's just me, but i doubt anything there changed him. he was already halfway out the door as Robbie walked in. my prediction is he's gonna catch a case like Whittaker did in S1 where the guy just drops and he quits

It was disappointing because I felt like I had seen at least one redeeming moment in the scene with Donnie. As the scene was setting up, I had worried he would be dismissive of Donnie because he's "just a nurse" but he immediately aknowledged Donnie's superior knowledge in that area and asked him to show them how he would do the sutures instead of Whittaker. I was like "Okay, Goggley eyes. maybe you're not so bad" but then he went back to being a little turd
