@crmnallyobsessed: A Brazilian au pair will serve the maximum 10-year sentence after she confessed to killing a man and helping plan the murder of the woman she worked for in a plot hatched by the woman's husband, with whom she was having an affair. Juliana Peres Magalhães was sentenced Friday, February 13, after she previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the February 2023 killing of Joseph Ryan. Magalhães testified that she fired the shot that killed Ryan as Brendan Banfield, her lover, was fatally stabbing his wife, Christine Benson Banfield, in the same room. Banfield and Magalhães had lured Ryan to the Banfields' home for what he believed was consensual sex with a strange woman he met online as part of a violent roleplay fantasy. Banfield burst into the room and shot Ryan under the guise of protecting his wife. Magalhães, who was there for the entirety, later shot Ryan a second time when she realized he was still alive. Brendan Banfield will likely remain behind bars for life after a jury found him guilty of murder in both killings earlier this month. Prosecutors recommended Magalhães be released in exchange for her cooperation, but the judge rejected that deal. #truecrime #aupairtrial
