@keith.crossley1: Forgiving your partner after betrayal doesn’t mean the triggers disappear. It’s normal to feel vulnerable, even years later. But instead of pushing them away or revisiting the past, try leaning in. A trigger is often just a sign that you need reassurance, not a reason to reopen old wounds. Be direct—ask for what you need in the moment, like a hug or some comfort. Honor the relationship you’ve built, not the one you’ve already overcome. Forgiving cheating is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever dealt with and I’m only 3 days in and I’m devastated

If I did that with my wife right now she would probably leave. I just try to hide the pain. It’s been 6 months since the last lie. I’m not a victim but man I’m hurt and tired.

Or.. the simple, drama free solution is to just shut the door and leave the person who cheated behind the door… move on, life is complicated as it is .. no extra drama needed from a live of wondering and questions and what if..

yes, when the triggers happen is them leaning in. the partner should not get on the defence. maybe they should lean in and give the reassurance that is needed. this should happen until. if this is done by the cheater the triggers will stop.

Dont put yourself thru that trauma, they didnt think about that while they were cheating, find yourself a loyal person that will always be loyal from the start

You pushed them away because you see they’re not putting in any kind of effort or changing or being transparent when they say the same things do the same actions as they were when they were cheating
