they actually found eve in the closet not in the locked room. Jodi played clueless when the cops were searching the home and came outside asking her for the code to get into the safe lock room, claimed she hadn't used it for years and didn't remember the code anymore. She lazily offers to call liberty safe company to try to come help but never gets off the phone with her attorney to try, she definitely didn't want them getting in there. Her face when they come back out and inform her that because they had initially received information that multiple children were at the property and they'd only found one, they needed to clear that room and were obtaining a search warrant (presumably to break it open since she whimsically didn't know the code) when they asked her what it even was, she said a room with a sink and a toilet and they were skeptical and like "and you haven't opened that for years?" No kids were found inside it bc the two older girls weren't at Jodi's, R had already escaped and E was found in the closet but if I recall they did find proof that the kids had been inside there at some point and supplies for the cayenne pepper bandages
