@theadventureaddicts: came to Japan to 1. Ski 2. Eat. So let’s eat!! We planned this trip to have about 48 hours in Tokyo, which was honestly perfect for us. Enough time to eat a whole bunch of food and see the city, but not too much to be extremely overwhelmed. We planned this full day to basically just get to taste tons of different foods around the city. The tsukiji fish market was one of the best places to get a whole bunch of small bites to share, and walk around and see tons of really cool food being prepared. This spot is touristy but 100% worth it in my opinion!! We got to try so many unique foods, the tuna and Wagyu really stole the show, absolutely INCREDIBLE. It was definitely a pricier day, but this was our main focus in Tokyo, rather than any shopping or souvenir buying :) Two notes for eating out in Japan: • Download tabelog for restaurant reviews & reservations. For nicer dinners & smaller towns (esp niseko), you’re going to need to make reservations ahead! Some people book months out for the really popular spots, we always just booked a night or two before, but you literally cannot eat at some spots if you don’t have one! • We did one omakase dinner in Tokyo, and it was hands down the best meal we have EVER eaten. The chef makes you whatever they want, it’s a set price (not cheap, it was about $170 pp, but this was one of the main things on our to do list). We went to sushi kousuke in shinjuku (also where we stayed). Cannot recommend enough if you want one splurge dinner. This was such a fun way to wrap up the trip!! So so sad to leave, but already thinking about coming back next year. Will share a bit more about our 48 hours in Tokyo in a post this week! #tokyo #japan #skiing
