You did him a service. prior to this event he didn't see any warning signs. after the tow he is now watching for signs, such as the warning signs (lights) his truck has long been giving him.

Or it was throwing codes before and he thought he could maybe get them fixed. Our truck threw codes after a battery died.

Fords throw codes everytime, and everytime they reset within an few hundred feet of driving typically, also you can easily pull 4x4 trucks by the rear wheels as long as they are in 2wd
