@brox_rocks: Have The Courage To Take One..More...Step. This section of Pitch 3 on Velvet Revolver was really hard to read from below. Looking up at the bulging varnished patina and the thin broken crack that split the head wall was intimidating. While I could see the first few moves I could not see what lied beyond. Would it get harder? Would the crack seam out leaving no protection? Would both things happen at the same time? Questions that the unknown forces our minds to contend with. In reality tho the only plausible course of action is to soldier on. Just take one step forward towards the goal and see how it feels. This is the only way to separate projected fear and reality. After finding good gear and committing to the moves the route unfolded in front of me. Holds that were invisible from below, the crack opened just enough for another cam, then a good rest stance to calm the nerves. I feel like this mentality carries over into real life so well. How many times have we backed off a personal project, didn't ask for the raise, avoided a tough conversation, convinced yourself the goal wasn't "worth it". We can get overwhelmed with the scale of our goals... This is a reminder to just take them one step at a time, you'll probably find out its a lot more approachable than you anticipated. #tradclimbing #rockclimbing #climbing #hikingadventures #hikingculture
