@therealcatchronicles: Getting your cat comfortable with tooth brushing takes time and patience, but the benefits are worth it! Regular brushing can help reduce gingivitis, prevent infections, and decrease the likelihood of painful (and expensive) extractions later on. Since February is Pet Dental Health Month, we’re sharing weekly tips and step-by-step guidance to help you feel more confident brushing your cat’s teeth. This week, we’re highlighting the vet-recommended products we use at home. We recommend using an enzymatic toothpaste like @vetoquinolpetsusa or Virbac — our kitties love the poultry flavor! ⚠️ NEVER use human toothpaste, it can contain ingredients that are toxic to cats and may cause vomiting, diarrhea, and in extreme cases seizures or liver failure. We also use a small, angled toothbrush from Mindupjapan, which has worked best for reaching those tiny back teeth. (Everything is linked in our Amazon storefront.) Since the toothbrushes only come in one color, I label each one with a Sharpie to tell them apart.
