If Denzel had won for Malcolm X, Crowe would have won his second Oscar for A Beautiful Mind in 2002, as he was the odds-on-favorite that year until Denzel's upset win. There was never chance in hell Smith was going to win - Sean Penn for I am Sam had more support than Smith.
