no kidding on the American traditional. I got my first American traditional tattoo a few days ago and dear Lord, that guy bottomed the needle out several times into his little ink dispenser. it was a good time

Asked several artists, even my artist, about this. EVERY SINGLE ONE said "Just change the needle". Also, my artist has only bottomed out once, and all she did was say "Ah shit, one sec" and changed the head immediately.
