When Olivia finally stood, as if preparing to leave, Fitz found the courage to speak. He told her he couldn’t be played with. It had nearly broken him the first time, and he loved her too much to survive that again. Olivia assured him she meant every word. She asked him to give her a chance, to let her prove that her love. That was all Fitz needed. His doubts fell away in the face of what he had longed for for so long. The woman he loved was kneeling in front of him, asking for him. He reached out, cupped her face gently, and kissed her.
