My job in the US expects us to find our own coverage, no one ever agrees to cover, and if we dont we get a write up even if we have a doctor's note. Oh and if someone says they will cover somehow they will be to close to 40hrs and the boss will say no, no overtime SMFH

In Bulgaria it can last up to a year if needed. The first two sick days are paid by the employer and the rest are paid by the government.

I went through this year ago. I kept putting off a doctor appointment that I really needed to get to. I went to my appointment after giving them a weeks notice. They fired me. I was able to collect unemployment.
