Enemies are way too tanky, the survival mechanics get in the way of exploration, there are too many items and no clear way of intuiting what’s important, combat just sucks, the tone is all over the place, and the game itself is too damn long with no good options for fast travel.

Abiotic is one of the only games that has a better level design that Dark Souls. The amount of times you say, “wait, I’m here? How?” Is ridiculous. And you can play with up to 6 players on a save, it’s amazing.

Disco Elysium. I bought it solely because of the art style. It sat in my steam library for almost 2 years. I personally never liked or played those "above view" click type of games.. played it and instantly fell in love..

For me, one of the biggest hidden gem games is Sand Land. It's based off of a one shot manga by THE Akira Toriyama, he worked on the game (& the anime released around the same time) prior to his passing. It has a fantastic story, characters, gameplay, world, & lore. But it seems like no one really even knows about it. It's been one of my most fun gaming experiences since getting my PS5 in 2024.
