Actually the army gets more of the new stuff and the marines use the last generation of gear the army USED to use.. and the army no longer uses the ACH helmet (unless in training) they use the ECH (enhanced combat helmet)

I’m army now was in the marines. I had significantly better gear and equipment in the marines. All of my shit worked. In the army my shits old pattern and most of our equipment is broken.

The m27 is more made to be a replacement for saws I think, it’s got a heavier barrel and better internals to support extended full auto fire.

The 03’s get the nice good gear, every other combat support MOS usually gets M16’s, M4’s with old flaks and Kevlar’s and hand me down gear.

Not so much anymore. 25 yrs ago for sure. I got a new M-16 A2 in 1999. It was not new it was new to the marine corps. Army hand me downs there as they was getting new rifles M4s Today it's better
