@letsbetechs: This is an old school solution to operating 2 units on 1 thermostat. They can switch from one unit to the other, but.....they have to use the manual dampers properly so it isn't just recirculating air through the unused unit. First thing we gotta do is trace some wires to understand what we are working with and how they intended to control them and seperate them. Pretty simple design once you label it and understand it. #hvac #hvacapprentice #hvactechnician #hvaclife #controlwiring
I used to work on boats out of Ashland now I’m an hvac tech. Loving this video

Motorized dampers is definitely the way to go so when they swap units they won’t forget about the dampers.

Durring the pandemic I had to sell 2-4ton gaspacks in place of a 7.5 ton gaspack and wire them into a 2 stage stat. Nerve wrecking but a fun schematic to figure out and rewarding when it worked.

Great video. Awesome job. Would of been real nice if the installers labeled the terminal board THEY made. Geese.

Motorized dampers wired in with the relay that is calling (starboard or port) would make sense to me 🤷🏼♂️

I watched another TT where they isolated the systems with spring loaded dampers. Seemed like a good idea, no electricity needed. Active fan works to open the local damper, and helps keep the other one shut.
