Maria G :
I don’t know if this qualifies but when I was 10, my cousin got married in the church in Argentina. The ceremony was scheduled for 8 PM, I think, so my mom and I get there and we’re looking around and we see other relatives and a bunch of people we don’t know. The Wedding March begins, the doors open. We look at the altar. My cousin is not there, a stranger girl walks in. Ceremony starts, and the priest keeps interrupting the ceremony to tell people off to stop talking and so on. Everybody is like “what is happening?” and the bride ends up crying. Ceremony ends, some people leave. The Wedding March starts, we turn to the altar. My cousin is still not there. The doors open, different bride walks in. Ceremony starts, different priest, who starts talking about “all the people that had died that couldn’t be present at the ceremony, but were there in spirit,” bride starts crying. Ceremony ends, some people leave. This happened three more times because the first bride was 2 1/2 hours late and they would not push her back so they had the brides in the cars circling the block waiting for this other woman to show up. My cousin did the math and realized that he was going to get the priest who spoke about the dead (they were alternating) and his bride had recently lost her father so he literally grabbed a priest that was walking by, explained the situation and said “I don’t want my girl to have a nervous breakdown,” so when the ceremony finally happened, it was this priest that my cousin had talked to, and he got married in five minutes.
