I lived I London for a year, and remember having to pay for a TV license. It makes sense because it goes to fund the BBC, instead of it coming from income tax, so only the people who actually watch tv (which is pretty much everyone, but anyway…) have to pay towards it. The part that seems surprising to me, though, is - for black & white?? Who in 2026 has a black & white TV???
