@ai.for.real.life: Why Your Nano Banana Images Lose Quality (And How to Get the Crisp Look Back) Have you ever spent 20 or 30 minutes dialing in an AI image, adjusting the lighting, tweaking the texture, moving props around, fixing outfits, perfecting composition… only to realize the final result looks soft? You try to upscale it. It still looks soft. You sharpen it. Still not crisp. Here’s what’s actually happening. With Nano Banana and most AI image editing models, every single edit slightly degrades the image. Each generation introduces tiny quality shifts. Individually, they are barely noticeable. But stacked together, they slowly erode that original photo-real sharpness. And no amount of upscaling truly restores what was lost. In this video, I break down the technique I’ve started using to fix this problem inside my AI filmmaking workflow. Instead of endlessly trying to rescue a degraded image, I push the edit until the scene is conceptually perfect. I lock in the lighting. I confirm every prop. I make sure the alarm clock, outfit, background elements, and character details are exactly where they need to be. Then I extract the JSON prompt. You can use ChatGPT, Gemini, or dedicated JSON extraction tools to reverse engineer the image into a detailed structural prompt. Once I have that clean, highly detailed JSON prompt, I regenerate the scene from scratch using that prompt and my reference images. It usually takes a few regenerations. That’s normal. But eventually, I land on a version that feels like a true starting point again. Crisp. Clean. Structured correctly. No stacked degradation. From there, I move forward with production. This small shift in workflow completely changed how I build AI film projects. Instead of fighting image erosion, I rebuild from structure.
