God forbid he should go to Wales, Northern Ireland or the parts of Scotland where English is a second language for many families who have been here for centuries! I taught in a school in South Wales where 32 different mother tongues were spoken, Welsh was taught as a second language and the curriculum taught through the medium of English. This is the reality of our marvellous country - this wealth of cultures and languages is what makes us British
