I am genuinely so frustrated, I am 100% a soprano,- (I go to karaoke and sing phantom of the opera an octave up for crying out loud) and my theater repeatedly sticks me in ALTO roles. LOW harmonies. LOW EVERYTHING. I did the ballad of Jane doe for an audition just to get the point across that I’m a soprano, AND IM STILL STUCK IN ALTO. it’s probably because I’m fat to be honest. Ugh.

There’s not a lot but there’s some pretty good alto parts in theatre. Like Rizzo, Fantine, Eponine, and most of Fiddler’s girl leads are altos.

Throwing out there my alto QUEEN Violet from 9-5, yall go listen to “one of the boys” which has a lil bit of belty stuff but all super manageable with some fun low stuff, and potion notion which is all falsetto and SO FUN to sing I love this role sm 💙💙💙(me in the center)
