Don’t listen to them. I had it done 2 weeks ago and I’m still in so much pain since day 1 so take as much time off as you can!

You get to stay until the next day? They kick us out the hospital a few hours after a laparoscopy here in America. Had it twice and no relief.

The “it’s just a day procedure” language can feel minimizing 🫠 endo surgery is serious and recovery isn’t always quick or simple. I used to feel powerless, like my only choices were stronger meds or more invasive steps. My digestion was a mess and I felt inflamed constantly. A friend told me to read Eat Like a Woman Protocol written by Loren Green and it shifted how I approached inflammation and food timing. 30 lbs down, steadier energy, flares less intense. kinda wild how much layered support matters.

I had my laparoscopy on Friday, came out of surgery at 1330 hours and was being discharged at 1530 hours. I was still drowsy, sicky & spaced out. Not to mention the extraordinary pain I was in…

I had a Robot-assisted laparoscopic excision of endometriosis, that lasted for about 6 hours I believe. They removed a big cyst on 1 ovarie, a ruptured water cyst and scattered endometriosis lesions across the entire right side of the abdomen (which did not show up on any on the ultrasounds or MRI scan). I felt fine afterwards, went home a couple hours after waking from general anesthesia. Was prescribed normal pain killers, paracetamol and ibuprofen to take 4 x a day and I had no pain what so ever. I took it slow, rested and was home for 2 weeks I believe, which was the maximum recommended and I was totally fine. Just shows that every surgery and experience is different, and I have severe endometriosis and was in pain 24/7 before surgery because I had pushed though pain for so long until it was unbearable. I am from Denmark, and it’s very clear that the take on endometriosis, treatment and surgery is very different from country to country.

I had my surgery at 10am and was in the car on the way home by 5pm explorative lap and excision is stage 3 deeply inflitrating endo and some had to be left behind because was too complicated to remove! Women’s health and pain is not taken seriously in this country

This is crazy. Going home the same day of the surgery. I spent 6 days in the hospital in Hungary. I had a drain in my belly for 5 days. 😳 Spent a day in the Icu.

i woke up with my legs uncontrollably shaking, feeling like i had just been stabbed 5 times & someone had ripped a bunch of flesh & organs out from inside of me, which makes complete sense because that’s exactly what happened!! 🥰

I had my procedure in August of 2023, what was meant to be a ‘45 minute procedure’ lasted almost 6 hours as my surgeon entered one of the port holes ‘blind’ without the camera and perforated my bowel. Crashed twice during the surgery and was lucky to be alive.

I had 6 hours of excision surgery, I had a drainage bag, on lots of pain meds and the nurses were trying to get me up and walking around. After 1 night they were trying to send me home. The surgeons told them off because they said I needed to be in for at least three nights, I was in for 5, as no one at home to look after me. It’s horrific that they make people leave so quickly.

I’ve had 10 surgeries for endo. Only stayed overnight for 3 of them. By surgery 7 we figured out that we book a hotel right next to the hospital (because the 2 hour drive home just wasn’t comfortable) for one night.

How did you all guys get to the point of laparoscopy diagnostics? I just got ultrasound and nobody speaks about further diagnostics or removal, just painkillers and live with it 😅

They forced me out of my bed to go to the toilet, I couldn't move, I was in so much pain when they moved me up I nearly fell to the floor. I had a nurse physically drag me and sit me on the loo while I was bawling in tears. I asked if this sort of level of pain was normal, I got no awnsers. I asked for pain relief, and I never got any before they kicked me out of the hospital, not even a paracetamol. I had to wait for 40 minuets in the cold outside, in the most pain I've ever been in, waiting for my ride home. Awful experience.

Had both my surgeries so far done privately thankfully. Both different hospitals and both were an inpatient overnight stay. For my robotic assisted lap and excision, I stayed 2 nights. Very rare cases privately is this a day patient procedure, and if you’re going private I’d recommend you research enough to have a hospital that keeps you in instead of rushing you out when it is so painful, plus gas pain with at home meds is NO joke.
