@rewirewithmilli: my biological blueprint for profitable trading after 2.5 years of failing, i realized my problem wasn’t my strategy - it was my fried dopamine system. because discipline isn't a personality trait; it’s a biological state. if your brain is flooded 24/7 with "cheap" hits (scrolling, caffeine, sugar, constant music), your dopamine baseline drops. you develop a high tolerance, meaning you need massive stimulation just to feel "normal." ❓here's a quick test to find out if your dopamine baseline is fried: (if you check 2+ boxes, your biology is probably working against your pnl) ◽️ you have an itch to click. a boring, valid setup doesn't feel like "enough." you overtrade just to feel the rush of being in the market. ◽️ after a loss, you feel a physical panic to get back to "even" immediately just to stop the mental crash. ◽️waiting for an a+ setup feels like physical torture. you'd rather take a bad trade than sit in silence. ◽️you find it impossible to watch the charts for 1 hour without checking your phone or switching tabs.
here’s the 7-day dopamine detox that worked for me: 🧠 the 7-day protocol (non-negotiables) starve the distractions and reclaim your prefrontal cortex: - no phone after waking up: stay off the screen for at least 2 hours. - zero social media: absolute fast (minimum: none until your session is closed). - phone on greyscale: kill the color stimulus that keeps you hooked. - no "quick checks": stop checking group chats or apps for micro-hits. - no youtube: even "educational" content. your brain doesn't know the difference. - no music or podcasts: stop using audio as background noise. learn to be alone with your thoughts. - stimulant control: cut the caffeine, especially pre-session. - clean fuel: no sugar or ultra-processed foods. stop the insulin crashes. - circadian alignment: fixed sleep/wake times to stabilize your nervous system. - optional: a total break from the charts to reset your relationship with the market. the rule i lived by: if it gives me an artificial spike, it’s not allowed, especially before trading, you want to remove the "noise" so that when you get to the charts, your brain doesn’t try to use the market as its next dopamine hit. ⏳ the timeline: what to expect - days 1–2 (the withdrawal): you’ll feel restless, irritated, and bored. you’ll reach for your phone subconsciously every 3 minutes. that’s your system recalibrating. fight through it. - days 3–4 (the fog lifts): the urges get weaker. you can sit in silence longer and your mental clarity starts returning. - days 5–7 (the calmer state): you’ll feel a massive increase in mental "space”, much calmer and less irritated by your surroundings and people. 🏆 why this changed everything for me i’ll be honest: this week is tough. it’s not fun, and you’ll want to quit by day two. but if the payoff is finally becoming a profitable trader, it’s the biggest win you'll ever have. after i finished this reset, i finally realized how much my dysregulated nervous system was causing my bad trading behavior. it wasn't my "edge" that was broken - it was my dopamine baseline. this week was the start of everything changing. since then, i’ve kept implementing these habits to protect my baseline, and the results speak for themselves. if you want to know more about how i maintained this or the specific habits i use now to stay profitable, let me know in the comments. #tradingforbeginners #howtotrade #tradingpsychology #tradingstrategy #tradingmindset

What do you think about a gym before trading session? It helps or is cheap dopamine?
