Personally, I find policing other adults’ relationships unnecessary and weird (but I am a millennial). But I also don’t think D+P’s age gap is weird (even back when they first started). Both of them were equally in the frontal lobe not developed still sorta dependent on parents stage of life. The only age gaps that give me pause are when people over 30 are dating college aged people. Like maybe find someone with a frontal lobe lol.

I feel like the deal with moderately sized age gaps when both parties are adults is like. This situation isn’t AUTOMATICALLY bad but you have to be on the lookout for unhealthy dynamics and abusive behavior in a way that’s different from how you would when both parties are the same age

i'm 2005 so fully gen z and i still don't see a problem in their age gap, here in italy it's completely normal and i think it's the same in the uk so i still don't understand what's yall's problem

Some Gen-Z just love creating discourse for no reason. They didn't initiate talking until Dan was 18 (finished school, can legally drink, viewed as an adult in every legal regard etc). A lot of people tend to have a lot of similar life experiences between 18-22 in England as well. It was also 2009, hypothetically, they could've initiated when Dan was 16 with no legal repercussions 🤷♀️

it really helps that they were clearly raised differently, and that affected their level of maturity for their age. 18 and 22 might sound like a lot, but lived experience is a whole other thing. also phil is just. genuinely nice. of course they were going to work out.

some age gaps deserve the side eye until proven innocent, some age gaps deserve police intervention and neither of those are necessarily based on a specific gap range or age but on vibes

Genuinely crazy how intense they are, like listen if an 18 yr old and a 22 yr old dated and then the 18yr old came out afterwards saying the felt taken advantage of then like yeah I’d believe them but unless they come out and say that I don’t think anyone should care(obviously this does not apply to older ppl dating minors)

I need people to learn that pretty much every relationship has power imbalances. It's almost inevitable. As long as the people in the relationship are aware of the imbalance and making an effort to mitigate it and ensure that everyone has equal decisional power, then it's perfectly fine.
