I get the frugal life style and the resistance to getting new things but what I don't get is not taking care of your possessions. Like why not just invest in thread and needle? You could patch that hole in your backpack easily. People many years ago would mend and take care of their belongings because they couldn't afford new one's, so I don't really get why he doesn't do that.

Huh no. I'd rather dress nicely, feel good, and satisfied with how i dress and how i look than dressing like im a homeless person. I only have one life why waste it onto looking awful. You can be presentable without spending too much money.
