@woopigsumo: The Johnny Paycheck arrests Johnny Paycheck wasn’t just the guy who sang ‘Take This Job and Shove It.’ He lived the outlaw life for real. Early on, while in the Navy, he got into a serious fight with an officer. He ended up court-martialed and spent a couple years in military prison. In 1981, he faced very serious charges involving inappropriate conduct with a minor. He later pleaded to a reduced misdemeanor, paid a fine, and got probation. Then, in 1985, during an argument in an Ohio bar-allegedly over cooking deer meat and turtle soup, things escalated badly. Johnny pulled a firearm and fired, grazing a man’s head. He was convicted of aggravated assault and sentenced to 7-9 years. After serving nearly two years, the governor commuted his sentence and he walked free. Those legal battles hurt his career, but Johnny kept making music until health issues slowed him down. The outlaw spirit was real… maybe a little too real. #story #storytime #History #outlaw #country
