Bituminous coal does better than anthracite if it’s a wood heater 😂

Funny we only had coal growing up. Wood burning stoves are a relatively new thing for us

I thought wood was ‘dirtier’ than coal when it comes to chimneys . 🇬🇧 we start a fire with coal and then add wood later 💗💗💗

different coal regions have different types of coal, either a high BTU or low BTU, some would would make blinkers and some burn to nothing but ash, always liked the smell of coal in the stove.

I used to dig it up as a kid on the property my parent's bought from the railroad. Back in the day of steam trains, the property across from my parents had a big water tower to refill trains, and a coal chute of some sort, later it had an underground diesel tank. The line fell out of service in the 1960s. When we bought the property we dug up the tank lots of pieces of coal in the soil. I wish I could find pics of some of that stuff but it was all removed long before my parents were even born.
