I was laid off twice by the time I was 23- it sucked ass. The one thing that it taught me is that you need to save as much as you can because you never know what can happen. 10 years later I am still saving as much as I can bc I’m scared shitless

I was laid off 4 times before 29 (most recent layoff was TikTok in 2023). I recommend looking into contract work - I wasted 10 months saying I wasn’t willing to accept anything that wasn’t FTE, but then managed to secure the first contract role I applied to. The benefits suck, but the pay is still decent. It’s at least a good stop gap solution if you already have major tech experience!
