@graycebush6: Opioid withdrawal isn’t dramatic. It’s physiological. When your body has adapted to a long-acting pain medication and it’s suddenly not there… your nervous system doesn’t politely adjust. It reacts. Sweats. Restlessness. Bone-deep aches. Insomnia. Heightened pain. Anxiety that feels chemical, not emotional. Add severe endometriosis to that? Your baseline pain becomes amplified. This is what happens when medication continuity falls through. I’m currently navigating a gap in my long-acting pain management while waiting for GP follow-up. No drama. No chaos. Just reality. I’m exhausted. Fatigued in a way that sleep doesn’t fix. Waking up every morning already in pain. And still — it’s week 3 of school. Groceries. Meal prep. Schedules. Because when you’re a parent with a disability, the world doesn’t pause when your nervous system is spiralling. This isn’t about dependence. It’s about physiology. It’s about what happens when complex patients sit in gaps between systems. I’m not thriving today. I’m stabilising. And sometimes stabilising is the bravest thing you can do #opioidcrisis #chronicpain #chronicillness #endometriosis #parenthoodbelike

Oh gosh I feel you. I didn’t line up my appointments right and ran out of meds and naively thought I’d be fine and just toughed it out . Absolutely horrendous. I hope you get that call soon. I don’t know why people think we would voluntarily be on these meds that have our bodies so reliant on them 😭

Oh sweetheart, I really really feel for ya . I always have a big fear , especially now ... that my GP will leave , or I won't be able to get in to see him . I take Targin everyday.. 2 x a day . I had to withdraw off of " Tramadol " once , my god ... it's just so hard . Big hugs 🥰

Feel you about the complex patient sitting in the gaps! I can’t have opioids yet am in daily severe pain with nothing to help, there is medication that can help but I can’t check the right boxes to get it funded by the pbs all the while I still have to work and look after two young kids 😫

urgent script or go to a after hours emergency gp you shouldn't be putting your body through withdrawals I'm guessing u must be on a low dose as you would be out of commission normally and do you realize they will use the days you've gone without to drop your dose

Please start squirreling away a few tablets every week if possible. That’s what I have done. My dosage is supposed to be one every 4 hours. I try to skip the ones at night or take just a half. Now I have a small amount set aside for this exact reason. It saved me once when my doctor forgot to send mine in and went on vacation about a year ago.

Oooo opioid withdrawal is brutal. Ive been through it a few times now and I avoid it by having tapentadol SR morning and night now. I was in hospital for 6 days. 4 hourly rotation of endone and tapentadol. Sent home with nothing. The next 5 days were a living hell. To make it worse, it was the first week of school (prep) for my son. Drop off wasnt too bad, but by pick up, I was ruined. Thank god my mum had a decent supply of diaz because otherwise I would have been back in hospital on diaz anyway. Worst part. They were gonna explore for endo and decided not to, thankfully another hospital that im under had noticed how many ED trips id had and had me booked in within 4 weeks. It was brutal and still no confirmation of endo. Im just broken in other areas.
