In light of the most recent statements by President Daniel Noboa, we urgently call on the international community and UNESCO to monitor the situation and act in defense of this unique ecosystem. Even if it is said that “it’s only 3%” or that only rock material will be removed, in an ecosystem like Galápagos the impact is not measured by percentages. It is measured by its fragility. 🌱 The high vulnerability of its endemic species. 🐢 The alteration of volcanic soil and natural habitats. 🌊 The indirect risk of contamination in marine areas. 🧬 The cumulative effect that small interventions can generate over the long term. Galápagos is a protected area under the Galápagos National Park and is under international observation precisely because even small interventions can have major and irreversible consequences. Galápagos does not belong to any government in power. It belongs to humanity and to future generations. 🌱 We demand transparency, respect for the Constitution of Ecuador, and real protection for one of the most fragile places on the planet. 📢 Share this message.
