The book brought so much more meaning to the movie for me, Howl always knew Sophie was young and saw her beauty as it was, Sophie didn't realize she was a witch and her words spoke things into existence so every time she referred to herself as plain, boring, or old she kept herself under the curse when she could have seen herself the way howl did the entire time had she believed she was more than what she was boxing herself into

In the movie the girls in Sophie's hat shop talk about a rumor of Howl picking up women and stealing their hearts, in fact, the women he "picks up" are women who probably look like Sophie since he is constantly searching for her, and they're heart broken because he lets them go since they aren't her. 😭
