About 12 years ago my wife and I wrapped the exterior of our house with 3 inch foam. We built another foundation all the way around the exterior of our house. Then framed the exterior with metal studs (basically because I had the metal studs). We went 16 inches higher than the old exterior walls. Then we put a new roof with R 30 on top of the old roof. R 19 on the new walls.
