Small detail- but I loved the fact they made sure his suit doesn’t fit him right. Because it’s not his. Its sleeves are too long and it’s too baggy on him. This was a time where suits would be tailor made/altered. Even in the flashbacks his clothing fits better

the thing that got me at the end is that the experiment worked but he starts to talk like it didn't. you can tell at that point he's choosing not to face it, regardless of the consequences for the facility and its other patients

I remember my dad accidentally spoiling the movie for me. I study film at Uni so the teacher told us to watch this movie at home. I did. I was like not even half way through and my dad asked what I was watching. I said “Shutter Island”. And he was like “Oh! That movie about a man who thinks he’s a cop looking for a psych-ward-patient? but he’s actually the patient?” But still great movie. It was still interesting to see how it panned out I guess 😭
