I grew up with a parent who thought that cleaning meant sweeping occasionally and mopping with dirty water that smelled disgusting and using the same rag all over the house, not washed, barely any cleaning products. It was all diluted with water.

I know but if makes no sense when my mom only says do the dishes and when I do only the dishes she gets mad like you could have said clean the kitchen

Growing up washing the dishes really meant doing cleaning the whole kitchen minus mopping that was always an separate chore so now as an adult I can’t function any other way
