I'm not defending Walmart but I used to work in a chicken plant it's in there because it is frozen when it is shipped to the store, and that is when it has defrosted after being in the case.

it's not water. previously frozen chicken meat produces a discharge because the ice crystals damage the cellular protein structure of the meat. it's bacteria rich slime.

Don’t forget to add the weight of the moisture diaper they put in their packages. Those fill up with water and add weight as well.
