@sarahli.mp3: if you’ve watched my youtube videos lately, you probably noticed i haven’t felt like myself. i’ve been pretty burnt out from my role. not dramatic-quit-my-job burnout. just the quiet kind. the “my brain feels heavy and everything takes twice as much energy” kind. it’s a hard feeling to shake. especially in tech, where everything moves fast and there’s always more to learn, fix, ship, understand. sometimes i catch myself thinking i should be able to handle it better. but burnout isn’t a skill issue. it’s a nervous system issue. these are a few things that actually help me reset: ⭐️ i take a real break. no phone. no slack. no “just checking.” i literally lay there and do nothing. slug mode. i let my brain stop performing. ⭐️ i make something just for fun. not for views. not for money. not to be impressive. just to feel creative again. play over output. ⭐️ i change my surroundings. different room. sit on the floor. step outside. new light. it sounds small but it helps my brain feel unstuck. ⭐️ i lower the bar on purpose. messy notes count. half-finished counts. 30% effort counts. i remind myself i don’t need to be at 100% every day. i’m still figuring this out. but i’ve learned that pushing harder when i’m burnt out never works. being gentler does. if you’re in tech and feeling this too, you’re not lazy. you’re probably just tired. 🤍 #burnoutrecovery #corporatelife #techlife #stemgirl #relatable
