YES! We have almost 900 acres in central Ky and I’m having so much fun scouting out the homesteads. Just by foot I’ve found 3, an old burial site from 1869, the site where an old general store sat, and there is another 875 acres to explore. I borrowed my Dads metal detector and messed around for a couple hours and I found an adze, a part of a wood burning stove, a shoe buckle, and hinges from a gate. It was all within 10 feet from one another. I have a digger that’s sponsored by a metal detecting company coming out to help me once the weather clears. One of the homesites was once a hospital during the war so I’m certain I’ll find some relics around here. I’m not expecting to find anything worth monetary value but I’m excited to learn some history. You’ve found some real gems ! The people that farmed this land were poor but maybe just maybe someone buried their coins ?
